In Berlin many people are already unemployed or at risk of becoming so. Providing invaluable help in this situation are the numerous Berlin citizens engaged in local initiatives and associations as volunteers. They contribute to establishing and reinforcing social networks and improving the employment opportunities of disadvantaged sectors of the population.
The Local Social Capital (LSK-Berlin) programme offers financial support to micro-projects in the city that bolster social cohesion and aims to improve the chances of disadvantaged sectors of the population on the job market. The programme particularly targets those local initiatives that are normally not eligible for ESF support or for funding from other federal and state programmes, and benefits small-scale or new initiatives such as informal groups, volunteer organisations, self-help groups, project groups, networks, and initiatives currently in the planning phase. In addition, it also provides funding to the sponsors and initiators of micro-projects targeting one or several disadvantaged sectors of the population.
Many different types of applicants (sponsors) can apply for funding, from legal persons under private law, business partnerships and natural persons to unincorporated organisations such as citizens’ initiatives, pressure groups, project groups, networks and registered associations.
If you are interested in applying for LSK-Berlin funding, please consult your local Borough Alliance for the Economy and Labour or call or e-mail comovis GbR at its branch at Oranienburger Strasse 65.
